Upgraded clients from the secure.stormer.com server to secure.stormer.info server. Final clients migrated over this last weekend. Migrations have been happening all during the month of July, but a large chuck was migrated over this last weekend.
There should be no interruption of services. Each account was personally reviewed, checked and then migrated. Once duplicated to the new server checked again on the new server. There was no 'bulk' migrations. Each account was migrated individually as each account is unique. No #2 pencils here!
The only issue you may have is with email and how you may have been previously configured. If you were previously using secure.stormer.com for incoming/outgoing mail server, you should now update that to be mail.your-own-domain.com. Older clients, prior to SSL being free may have been using the server's hostname vs their own mail.their-own-domain. Check that. That said, even the secure.stormer.com was moved to the new server. But due to propagation, you may still be resolving the old server. Possibly reboot your computer? That may reset it!
INCREASED SECURITY
The new server has benefits such as the new imunify360 firewall/malware service. This service keeps your websites from being infected in 'real time'. If a file is changed, it is scanned. If it's malware, it's squished. In addition to that, it blocks a lot of very bad 'bots' that continually attempt to spider and attack your websites. Less bots? Faster websites!
INCREASED BACKUP CAPACITY
The new server has 6 daily incremental backups and 2 weekly backups and starting on 9/1 a monthly backup.
The old server's backup process had failed and that is a problem if something bad should happen. So enjoy the increased security of knowing your files are backed up. (*blah blah, you are responsible for your own files, but we are doing our best to make sure we got you covered, just in case!) Since you happen to be 'our data' we do our part to ensure our data is backed up too. :)
INCREASED PERFORMANCE
The new server is a beast. 24 intel cpu cores, 100 gigs of ram with quad 1TB SSD drives in Raid10. What does raid 10 mean? It means if a drive fails, it's as simple as putting a new one in. The server will repopulate the new drive and won't skip a beat. On average, 5 min downtime in the unlikely event of a SSD drive failure. The SSD drives make disk I/O minimal. (drive going slow while the rest of server waiting on drive to 'write' to disk before proceeding)
